We hope you all know how wonderful it is that you are taking the time to check out what's happening in your child's room.
If you can't make it into our room then hopefully our Weebly page is the next best place. We will try to update and add new sections as often as we can.
How is your child settling in? Look at a great article that will help you with some ideas for this topic. Click on the link below -www.education.wa.edu.au/web/newsroom/-/progress-check-how-are-your-kids-settling-into-school- Can you Help?? If you would like to help or you have in the past (you know who you are!!) please remember how rewarding this is and how grateful we are. So are your children!
..If you are interested in helping with Art, Maths activities or any other learning area please come to see us and we will slot you in on a day that suits everyone.
WE also LOVE helpers on Monday mornings with reading and sticker updates. It is a wonderful opportunity to hear other children read and see how our class is progressing.
Homework We will be encouraging children to continue with the same excellent approach to homework that they began in year one. Many children will be reading not only the readers from school but are now reading a wide range of both fiction and non fiction. Keep this up and you will be surprised with the improvement in both spelling and writing, not to mention vocabulary and general knowledge.
Check out the links for maths in the student section. IMaths has fun games too. Remember "Make learning fun and learning will come!"
Did you Know... Our wonderful library has a parent section full of excellent resources to help you with your child's education both socially and academically? Just pop in to see the library assistants when you have a spare moment, have a look and borrow a few books or games.
Did you know.. We would love parents, grandparents, friends etc to email us with your interests and passions and days you are available. Opportunities will pop up throughout the year for everyone to take part in their child's adventures at school. We love finding out about what you love to do, and can share with us. Last year we learnt about old toys from a grandad's collection and a mum told us what she did as a vet. Anything from knitting to bricklaying- just come along!
Did you know... Your children must be aware that you know what they are doing on the family computer/devices at all times. At this age and for many years to come they will need you to be a watchful guardian and guide for their safe online experiences. Please limit time on all devices if you can and encourage alternative activities, play dates and relaxation times.
